Zimbabwe-bound Jamaica diva geared
Zimbabwe bound Jamaican diva Neelah says she can’t wait to meet Zimbabwean merry-makers.
The 24-year-old, who has been making waves in the Caribbean Islands, is one of the major signings of Cahban Rekords co-owned by Dwayne Morris and UK-based Zimbabwean promoter Negos Jana.
As such, Dwayne and Jana have stepped up plans to open a Cahban Records branch in Harare as a way to create opportunities for Zimdancehall artistes.
However, it should be mentioned that the attention would be on Neelah who is set to be part of the entourage visiting our shores in December.
According to the two parties, the entourage will be headlined by either Sean Paul or Elephant Man as part of Cahban Records promotional tour along with Jamaica’s freshest diva, Neelah.
As she gears up for her maiden Harare tour, Neelah will today drop a single titled Rewind set to be unveiled in Zimbabwe during the festive season.
Nelaah’s new single, off her forth-coming EP called Ready, will be available online today.
Speaking to H-Metro Entertainment & Lifestyle from her base in Kingston, Neelah could not hide her elation.
“I’m excited and can’t wait to share this project (Rewind) with my fans,” she said.
Neelah said she had lined up a number of collaborations with Zim dancehall artistes in her quest to win hearts of Southern African merry-makers.
“Amazing surprises with several collabos are in store with Zimbabwean artists.
“My vision for this EP is seeing the songs going places and for it to be well received by my fans,” she said.
“The first song on the EP which is Caution was released earlier in the year.
“However, song number two ‘Rewind’ will be out on the 8th of September (today). Then the entire catalogue of songs on the EP will be out at the end of September.
“Songs on the Ep comprise Caution, Rewind, Ready, Position, Never Deny, Touch Me So and Rhythm.
“The idea behind this Ep being called ‘READY’ is because my fans have been waiting and ready for some good music.
“The significance of the title also suggests that I’m at a different stage in my career and ready to take the streets to a next level,” she said.
In another interview, Jana who is charge of the stable’s African market, said it was an honor working with Neelah.
“I am so excited as a stable to work with Neelah.
“Her work ethic is out of this world. She put in extra studio work and we have done many songs that are being mixed and mastered.
“We have put forward the release of Rewind so that her fans will have something to enjoy summer with.
“The song is available on all music platforms as of Wednesday 8 September 2021 and the video of the song will be out soon.
“We are also excited that the collaboration between Neelah and a top Zimdancehall star is done and will be part of Neelah’s forth coming album,” said Jana.
“This EP represents Neelah’s beat work so far and as a label it’s our pleasure to work with her.
“Cahban Rekords is the executive producer for this project. There are seven tracks on with some surprises.
“This EP is all about good vibes and happy music. We are bringing back the dancing to dancehall.
“It will also be available on all her social media handles like Instagram and YouTube,” he added.
According to Jamaican reports and her social media handles, Nelaah – born Corbelia Abarus in Kingston – is widely considered the hottest prospect to emerge from Jamaica.
