A 14-YEAR-OLD boy is in dire need of financial assistance to enable him to access medical attention after developing a cancerous wound.
The boy ‘Blessing Moyo’ developed cancerous wound on his left arm sometime in 2014 and doctors at Kwekwe General Hospital confirmed his ailment in October the same year.
After the diagnosis Blessing was hospitalized at Kwekwe Hospital for three months and financial incapacitation led to his discharge.
Faced with limited options, the family was left with no alternative, but to seek traditional herbal treatment in their quest to save the boy’s life.
The boy, who now resides at Lily Farm some 7km from Patchway Mine in Kadoma, said the traditional medicines have only delayed the growth of cancer, but have not done much towards a total cure.
“I was orphaned and ever since then I have been staying with my maternal grannies, Alice Moyo (47) and Olivia Mcheri (48), who are both unemployed, to cater to my medical needs.
“I was supposed to be in secondary school, but the disturbances that were brought about by his illness have left me still anticipating writing my national Grade 7 examinations,” said Blessing.
“My dream is to be one-day recognized among Zimbabwe’s great artists,” he said during the interview. He said he looking to God for his healing.
“My normal life depends solely on two words: empathy and sympathy.” Those who wish to assist Bless-ing can contact his grandfather on 0771128558.
