A Glenview woman has been accused of stabbing her husband with a knife for neglecting the welfare of his child.

Alfred Lawu accused his wife Rosewater Masukumbe of being violent towards him and that this prompted him to seek for a protection order at the Harare Civil Court. “We got married last year with Masukumbe and we have a child together.

“We separated last month because of her violent nature and she is in the habit of assaulting me whenever we have a misunderstanding.

“I have since moved out of the house and I am renting in Kuwadzana.

“She stalks me to my workplace and place of residence and at one point she stabbed me with a knife and I sustained some injuries,” he said.

In response, Masukumbe was not opposed to the application but denied some of the allegations.

“I am not opposed to the application but he is a liar; I also want peace to prevail between us.

“I never stabbed him with a knife instead he is the one who is violent towards me.

“We have a child together as he stated but he does not fend for the child, I struggle to fend for the child alone,” Masukumbe said.

Presiding magistrate Lazini Ncube granted the protection order in Lawu’s favour.
