’What Wicknell did with Gwanda Solar Funds’
The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy toured the site of the proposed Gwanda Solar Plant in Gwanda in a bid to widen their probe into the contentious deal signed by the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) and Intratrek, a company owned by socialite Mr Wicknell Chivayo.
This Gwanda visit is a practical bid verify what’s on the ground vis-a-vis the $7 million which was paid to Wicknell and his company to commence their works on the site. One of the committee members Honorable Fani Munengami had this to say.
“In Gwanda now inspecting the Gwanda Solar Project which was awarded to Wicknell Chivhayo ‘s company, Intereck. These structures are the only works done after being paid $7 million by ZESA, cry my beloved country”
