We feel good: Musona
Warriors captain Knowledge Musona says it feels good to qualify for AFCON for the fourth time in 2-0 win over Congo-Brazzaville.
The tournament will be hosted by Egypt in June.
Zimbabwe has qualified alongside DR Congo who beat Liberia 1-0.
Musona scored the second goal in the 36th after Khama Billiat’s opener in the 20th minute and Zimbabwe needed at least a draw to qualify but the boys opted for a win.
“It feels good and we must credit to the team mates because I wasn’t playing alone.
“We’ve had a very good campaign, we started very well and we finished well so yeah the credit goes to the team and the coaches also.
“But overall we had a good campaign, “he said.
The Anderlecht star has promised great things from his teammates as they prepare for AFCON.
“I think all our teams we were playing before were great and we just took over from other guys who were playing before and the guys who are not there.
“And I think there are more great things to come for other young guys coming. But we have the best players here at the moment,” he said.
Musona’s goal becomes his fifth since the campaign for Egypt began.
Musona has urged his teammates to go work hard for the tournament.
“I think now we have to go back to our clubs and start playing regularly to be fit. We also have to try to have good camps and good games before the tournament.
“So that we prepare ourselves well.
“I think the key is to have preparation, to start camp very early as soon as possible,” he said.
