FOUR members of the Warriors CHAN delegation are quarantined in Cameroon after testing positive for coronavirus.
Zimbabwe, who crashed out of the ongoing CHAN tournament, played their last game against Mali at the weekend.
And as procedure, they underwent tests before their scheduled travel back home and four members of the delegation tested positive to the respiratory disease.
Zifa confirmed the development in a statement yesterday without revealing names.
“ZIFA confirms that 4 members of the CHAN delegation tested positive to Covid-19 and have remained quarantined in Cameroon,” said Zifa in a statement.
The other members of the squad arrived back home yesterday.
“Meanwhile, other members of the delegation are now in the country. We wish quick recovery to all the affected players and officials.,” added Zifa.
Those said to have tested positive include a head of delegation and Zifa executive committee member.
The others are two players and two members of the technical staff.
The trip has been marred with setbacks after fifteen of the members tested positive before their departure to Cameroon.
They had to postpone their departure dates so that the members recover.
Zdravko Logarusic’s men went to put a poor show, to become the first group to leave the tournament without a point.
They lost 1-0 to Cameroon, 3-1 to Burkina Faso and 1-0 to Mali.
