‘Underutilised Beerhalls Should Be Turned Into Clinics’ – Says Health Minister
HEALTH and Child Care Minister David Parirenyatwa has reportedly said that under-utilised council beer-halls countrywide should be converted into local clinics to benefit a bigger number of people.
He made these remarks when he was opening a health facility which was, for years, a council owned bar which had become dilapidated but was later turned into a clinic.
“This is an example of innovation which must be copied across the country,” Parirenyatwa said.
“Today we are witnessing the conversion of what used to be a bar into a facility that is going to benefit everyone in the community.
“The initiative here is highly commendable as it shows the good utilisation of available resources”, he added.
Parirenyatwa praised the innovation and urged other local authorities to emulate this innovation countrywide.
