‘The office was too small’
A DISPUTE over office rentals has landed two men in court.
Oliver Kambarami took Norman Mafunge to the Harare Civil Small Claims court accusing him of refusing to refund $100 office rentals as he did not use the office.
“I want a refund because I did not use the office we were supposed to share.
“The owners of the building told me that I should negotiate with Mr Mafunge to share the office with me and I that pay my rentals through Mafunge.
“I did not use the office because soon after I paid my $100 I realised that the office was too small for us to share,” said Kambarami.
Kambarami also told the court that he could bring the landlord as a witness.
“Your worship, I can bring the landlord to testify that I paid $100 to Mr Mafunge.”
Mafunge disputed the claims saying that Kambarami was lying to the court as the office was big enough for two people.
“He is lying; the office was too big to accommodate the two of us but he rejected it.
“I do not owe him any money because I gave the landlord his rentals,” said Mafunge.
Presiding magistrate Tafadzwa Miti postponed the matter to today.
