Tendai Biti: Inflation will jump to 500% this month.

The wheels have come off. Massive prices hikes mean that inflation will jump to 500% this month. The parallel exchange rate will hit 1:9 in the next few days. There is a shortage of everything particularly fuel, drugs &electricity. Emmerson has taken us back to the Stone Age.

Mthuli-Ncube-Tendai-BitiMDC Vice President and former Minister of Finance Tendai Biti has slammed Mthuli Ncube’s policies arguing that they were the cause of the runaway inflation in the country. He described Ncube as practising “Voodoo Economics” and went on to say that national dialogue between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and opposition leader Nelson Chamisa.

Having spent a few days quizzing Emmerson’s lot in Parliament it’s quite clear that the country is doomed. The whole bunch are cruel clueless quislings. When a goat is found on the 20 the Floor of a building, the question is not how to get it down but how it got there?

One can’t boast of RTGS $ surplus based on cash accounting in the first quarter marked by deep poverty & disequilibrium. In any event, one does not destroy real value and wake screaming of a surplus in valueless money. It’s voodoo economics.

Once again the solution is simple. The political crises need urgent resolution. Dialogue between Emmerson & our President @nelsonchamisa is the only thing that can create a soft landing for Zim. Without it, the country is headed for an implosion. Another 17 Nov or 1 August.

On the economic front, it is imperative that the regime must simply re- dollarize to stem the meltdown. Anything else is a waste of time. Export surrender requirements must fall. Production must commence. Savings must be ring-fenced and we must join the RMU .#RiggingDoesNotPay
