Temba Mliswa Appointed Village Head in Shurugwi

Mliswa Exposes Zanu PF Projects Ahead Of Elections

Former legislator Temba Mliswa has assumed the position of village head in Shurugwi under Chief Banga, taking over from his aunt Maria Dube, who resigned due to illness.

The appointment was confirmed through an official letter dated January 24 and signed by Chief Banga.

Expressing his thoughts on the appointment via his social media account, Mliswa highlighted the familial nature of the position, tracing its roots back to his grandfather, Peter Sixpence Mliswa.

In a statement, he said, “Ichoo ndicho! Mochikorokotedza muchida musingade. Chibhuru Sabhuku. This is a position passed down in the family lineage for years from my grandfather Peter Sixpence Mliswa to my father and vazukuru vekwaDziva who kept it going.”

The appointment has raised commentary among analysts, who ponder whether the Mliswa family’s succession of influential positions signifies an inherent destiny for greatness or a tendency toward power dynamics. Some analysts humorously remarked on the family’s involvement in various positions of authority, noting that it could be seen as either a testament to their destined greatness or a penchant for clinging to power.
