Teachers To Go On Strike…Full Press Statement Released
The Zimbabwe Teachers Association has advised it’s constitutional right to partake in industrial action through a written statement.
This follows the recent industrial action by nurses which took a dramatic turn when the government decided to fire all nurse who were part of the strike.
ZIMTA affirmed that it is within the legal frame to strike if the labor practices are unfair and if the renumeration does not tally as per agreement with the employer in this case the government.
Therefore, schools will not be opening for the second term because the teachers will be on strike until their grievances are addressed.
