Tapiwa Makore’s parents were reportedly duped by a driver they had hired to ferry them to Malawi, where they intended to consult faith healers.
Tapiwa (7) was slain in Murehwa last year in a suspected ritual murder and his parents intended to recover their son’s missing head with assistance from faith healers.
The suspect, Taurai Fitzgerald Mukumba (37) was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Richard Mangosi.
The complainant in the matter is Munyaradzi Makore, who is Tapiwa’s father.
The court heard that Makore consulted faith healers who told him that is son’s head was in Malawi.
Allegations are that on February 17 this year, Mukumba misrepresented to Makore that he could provide his vehicle for the trip to Malawi.
Mukumba received $4 500 via mobile money transfer and US$125.
He, however, became evasive and did not deliver the truck until the victims approached the police.
