Video: South Africans take swimming to the rivers after closure of beaches

After a few days since President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation regarding the latest sharp increase of COVID-19 case in South Africa and announcing the new strict measures to curb this second wave, surprising videos, and pictures of citizens at rivers have emerged.

Amongst many other new rules, there is the closure of beaches especially in the Capes where there is a huge increase in the number of new coronavirus cases. Therefore the government announced the closure of beaches.

However, on circulating videos and pictures on social media, people have instead taken their parties and chills to the rivers. It is not clear when these videos were taken, but they have emerged right at the same time the beaches are being closed.
