Somizi reveals Black Coffee charges R1.7mil per performance

Black Coffee’s name in the music industry carries so much weight locally and internationally. It is no surprise that the always in demand DJ does not come cheap when booked to play at wedding gigs.

Somizi Mhlongo was thrilled to have Black Coffee perform at his white wedding recently – The radio host and SA Idols judge put a post of appreciation on social media – He also revealed Black Coffee’s exorbitant fee and revealed how much they could not afford him for their white wedding.

To everyone’s surprise, The DJ surprised Somhale at their wedding by performing a special set for the happy couple.

“Then Black Coffee happened…best surprise ever. To get Black Coffee is a dream come true for us. We love him. He was part of our dream list, but hey, $100k… we don’t have it,” he said.

“My dreams came true last night. What a pleasant surprise. This man was supposed to be performing overseas and he decided to surprise me at the end of the evening and played at our wedding.” “I cried like a baby with excitement. I’ll forever cherish this moment. And to all the performers, we thank you.” Somizi wrote
