Soldier appears in court
A SOLDIER who on Sunday shot two children while threatening to shoot his wife appeared in court yesterday.
Rungano Cornad Magaiza was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.
It is the State case that on July 15 in Waterfalls, Magaiza was in possession of a Zimbabwe National Army FN Browning service pistol which was issued to him to use in his duties as assigned by the army.
Towards daybreak, Magaiza and his wife Loveness Muuduri had a dispute which resulted in him becoming violent and also assaulted his wife.
He pressed the complainant on the wall and then produced his service pistol, which he pointed on the chest threatening to kill her.
Magaiza’s nephew managed to disarm him and in the process two children, who were at the scene were shot in the melee.
