MDC Alliance Vice Chairman Job Sikhala has rallied Zimbabweans to throng the streets on 31 July. Sikhala was speaking from a bushy area as he is running away from police.
Part of the speech by Job Sikhala in the bush about 31 July read,”Dear Zimbabweans, I come to you again today. Count down our days left. It is the day when all of us where ever we are are going to speak about the country. No to looting in our country, Corrupt people must be punished.
We want to see all those people plundering our national resources, arrested, prosecuted and fired from positions.
We demand the immediate release of Hopewell Chin’ono and Jacob Ngarivhume. I’m surprised by our judiciary at the present moment no matter that I’m an officer of the court. But there is justifiable criticism of the judiciary within the parameters of the law.
There is nowhere in the world where the law has been used as a sword against the people. There are no grants at all for denying them bail.
The judiciary has been used against the aspirations of the people like we saw in apartheid South Africa where everybody who called for democracy were incarcerated by the system using the judiciary. During Douglas Smith’s time nationalist who were fighting for independence, the judiciary was used to persecute them. Even during the times of Hitler and in North Korea. This is exactly the situation we are in our country.
Those not in agreement with the government are being taken to courts. We are so ashamed by the conduct of the judiciary. There are those who are used against the citizens of this country. OS i call upon you on the 31st of July this year we should continue speaking our minds.
It will not end on 31 July. We must obtain results as the people of Zimbabwe. Friday is the day ladies and gentlemen.”
Meanwhile the police are appealing to the public about the whereabouts of Sikhala, Godfrey Tsenengamu, Obey Sithole, Promise Mkwananzi, Ostallos Siziba, Allan Moyo, Denford Ngadziore, Makomborero Haruzviishe, Peter Mutasa, Godfrey Kurauone, Stephen Chuma and Jim Kunaka.
