SEND ME TO JAIL, BURGLAR BEGS MAGISTRATE | A 22-year-old burglar has begged a Mutare magistrate to send him to jail, saying community service is painful.
Moses Bande said :“I have had community service before and it is very painful. It’s better I go to jail.”He was then slapped him with a 30-day jail term. The court heard that on September 2 at around 3.30pm, Moses snatched Evelyn Makaza’s wallet with $20 in it and ran away.
“The complainant started chasing the suspect who threw away the wallet upon realising that he was about to get caught. When the complainant checked her wallet, she discovered that the money was missing. She managed to apprehend the accused person and took him to a police station
