Questions over Denver absence

CAPS United have kept fans guessing on why Denver Mukamba, who was in the squad to face Triangle, did not travel.

Five picks from CLPSL Match-day 5

The lack of an official position from CAPS United on the player, who has been on the mend, has given rise to speculation. Mukamba did not travel with the rest of his CAPS United squad that left for Gibbo for their sixth PSL encounter against Triangle, a match they lost 2-1.

Sources close to the team say Mukamba appeared at the picking up point but the team then left without him.

“Mukamba did appear at the picking point and then he left here saying he will be back soon and he never came back.

“We all thought he was going to come back soon and we tried waiting for him but it was to no avail he did not return. He left us with no choice and we left him behind,” said an insider.

CAPS United chief executive Cuthbert Chitima’s phone was not available to shed more light.

The player’s agent Gibson Mahachi, who has been trying to make sure the player focuses on trying to raise his game, said things were normal.

“Nothing serious really took place there, it’s only that effective communication lacked.

“The team had regrouped and then they dispersed and they had to meet up at the picking up point and he was available all along,” Mahachi said.
