Prisca Mupfumira ministry wins another prestigious award.
The award, endorsed by the German Federal Government, was received by ZimParks director general Fulton Mangwanya on July 16 to round up a year of accolades for parastatals under the ministry.
Priscah Mupfumira-led Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry ministry has added another feather to its cap after Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority was awarded the prestigious 2019 Sustainable Green Award in Berlin, Germany.
The award comes on the back of Zimbabwe’s tourism sector being awarded the 2019 Must Visit Destination by internationally renowned Lonley Planet.
Zimbabwe was also named on the 2019 Cool List by National Geographic and won the Sustainable Destination from the Pacific Travel Writers’ Association Awards (PATWA) PATWA.
For Mupfumira’s overall contribution to the sector, she earlier this year walked away with the Tourism Minister of the Year 2019 (Africa) awarded by PATWA.
She was handed the award by UNWTO outgoing Secretary-General Dr Talib Rifai in Berlin, Germany in March.
Every year, PATWA awards best performance in the travel and tourism industry with Zimbabwe being recognised for its consented efforts on the world travel and tourism landscape.
