Suspect in Harare Phone Dealer Murder Battling For Life.
Murder suspect Elvis Dongo Saungwema is reported to be fighting for his life in hospital as he had tried to slit his throat to end his life.
Simbarashe Zuze his lawyer revealed this as his co-murder suspects appeared in court for their routine remand before a Harare magistrate.
The deceased Sipho Ncube
As said by the state and police statement, Saungwema and his co-accused, Munyaradzi Mawadze (the son of a high court judge), Garainesu Mawadze and Dylon Balani incriminated the murder of Sipho.
It was identified in March this year that they stabbed Ncube with a knife before they slit his throat open.
They persuaded the late Sipho to their car, making him believe that they was to conduct a cellphone deal. They then robbed the deceased of his phones and cash he had which was not identified before they stabbed him and left his body in a bush in Ruwa.
There were reports that one of the murder suspects Munyaradzi Mawadze, started having mental illness.
Its assumed that the mental instability was linked to the rituals done by Sipho’s family after burying him. Moreso, it was claimed that Munyaradzi’s father, Judge Mawadze indulged in a number of mysterious events that closely took his life.
The co-suspects are out of jail and await trial.
