Pfumbidzai op successful
WARRIORS and Bloemfontein Celtic defender Ronald Pfumbidzai underwent a successful operation for a sports hernia problem yesterday.
The problem has been affecting his game and kept him on the sidelines since last year.
Pfumbidzai last played on December 7 in their game against Kaizer Chiefs.
He is likely to be out for six weeks after the operation.
H-Metro spoke to Pfumbidzai from a South African hospital.
“We thank God that the operation was successful.
“I am fine just waiting to recover, it was painful and I’m still in pain right now. It’s been hard not being playing but it’s part of the process,” he said.
“I’m just glad that this operation will solve the problem because it was now a problem to play. The doctor said it will take about three to four weeks to heal and might start training after six weeks,” he added.
Pfumbidzai extends his gratitude to his wife Graduate.
“I would like to thank my lovely wife, she has been there through the injury and she also came with me, waiting outside when I was in the theater today (yesterday).
“I want to thank her for comforting me and encouraging me during this time. As someone who grew up from a football family she knows that things like this happen so she understood what I was going through.
“Her love made me pull through and I can’t wait to get back to the pitch,” he said.
