Businesswoman Olinda Chapel Nkomo will soon launch a TV channel that will focus on philanthropy, business and empowerment.
Chapel reportedly revealed this in her International Wome’s day message as she was speaking to The Herald and said:
I believe the arts sector in Zimbabwe has so much potential and it needs to be regulated properly to ensure that artistes get the rewards of their hard work.
The relevant authorities in the arts sector need to step up a bit more and provide further support to the National Arts Council and all their subsidiaries.
We are launching the Olinda Chapel television show which is based on business and philanthropy work where we highlight our successes.
She also spoke about her philanthropic work and said she is passionate about empowering the youth:
I have always had a passion to work with young people and give them opportunities that may not be readily available to them.Philanthropy is something very close to my heart and working with those that need help is so rewarding in the sense that you are changing the world one person at a time.
The foundation name is called Olinda Chapel Foundation and its country director headed is Shepherd Ndebele. We have offered home-based employment to those that would normally be self-employed and have distributed thousands of mealie meal bags in Epworth and surrounding areas
This was mainly focused at the elderly people who have the responsibility of looking after their grandchildren. The OCF was also involved in paying hospital bills for those that were sick and struggling
Chapel did not reveal more details about her upcoming TV show but took the time to address her marriage to singer Njabulo Nkomo and said they have worked very hard on their marriage.
