Nyanga Pop-Up Carnival a blast

Nyanga Pop-Up Carnival a blast.

Andile Brown marked the beginning of the two-day Nyanga Pop Up Carnival event, that was hosted by Pop Up Zimbabwe.

Nyanga Pop CarnivalThe fact that Nyanga is in the coldest region of Zimbabwe did not stop people from Popping Up and getting into the mood of the carnival. The Carnival was dominated by people from Harare and Mutare who travelled the night before into the scenic city.

Nyanga PopRob Macson took over after Andile and took the spirit of the carnival to another level. Fans could not get enough of his amazing skills on the turntables as he managed to accommodate all races on his playlist. “The Groove Theory” Langton B and Dj V gave the last performance of the first night with some good house music, keeping people on their feet with “amapiano” grooves.

Nyanga CarnivalDay Two did not turn out as expected on the stage due to some no shows. Chucknosis and Selekta Base are some of the artists who did not make it to the carnival despite being scheduled to perform. The reasons for their no-shows are not known.

However, their absence did not stop the hype of the carnival. Andile, C Skills and Macson gave an outstanding day two opening act, followed by Military Touch Movement artist Dj Iroq who delivered the best performance of the night. Raydizz led the night into the colour festival making it one of the most memorable events in Nyanga.

Carnival NyangaAt the end of his performance, he gave tribute to the late national hero Dr Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtkudzi by playing his song with Winky D. The Groove Theory was brought back to the stage by public demand and delivered the last performance of the carnival.

Pop Up Zimbabwe Boss Duncan Muponderi commented on the event saying. We are going to have the second edition of the carnival same time next year, but as of now, we are planning a Bush Party event in three months.

Last week it was reported that the two had split over money issues, a rumour both parties denied by professing their ignorance. However, leaked chats between the parties show that money played a big part in their decision to split.
