Nude Pictures Produced in Prophet T Freddy Rape Trial

The trial of rape-accused Goodness and Mercy Ministries leader, Prophet Tapiwa Freddy, continued yesterday with his lawyer producing nude pictures which were allegedly sent to him by the complainant.

Freddy’s lawyer, Everson Chatambudza, was cross-examining the complainant when he produced pictures of the complainant in a tub.

“You seduced the man of God and lured him into bed . . . there’s also an audio recording of a phone call of you pestering the man of cloth to get into bed with you,” said Chatambudza.

He then played an audio in which a woman he claimed to be the complainant, was talking to Freddy, asking him to take care of her physical needs, as a woman.

The complainant denied that it was her voice in the recording.

“You told the court that you were wearing a red dress when he allegedly raped you the second time in July 2021, it’s not in your statement.

“You further indicated that your dress got torn but why did you leave out that vital information to the police?

“You confirm that the dress is an exhibit and is proof that part of your clothing got torn, where is it?

“Witness, I put it to you that you fabricated the whole issue and you should have taken the dress to the police, who would have brought it to court.

“You didn’t do so because the dress doesn’t exist,” said Chatambudza.

The complainant said she hadn’t realised that it was a pertinent aspect when she made the police report.

The complainant was also questioned on the audio recording she produced in which she told her aunt about the alleged November rape and not the incident in July.

“A statement was recorded from your aunt and she never corroborated your version of events.

“She told the police, who recorded her statement, that you told her about the November 2020 incident and in her statement she concluded that you two were in love.

“The July incident is fictitious and that’s why you can’t explain what transpired or the discrepancies and that’s why your aunt cannot corroborate it because it didn’t happen,” said Chatambudza.

The trial continues today.
