Nasama spoils DeMbare’s day
KING Nasama met Dynamos for the first time since he crossed the floor and he made sure his name will remain in the archives at Rufaro yesterday.
It was a game the hosts looked set to collect three points at the expense of Chicken Inn before the DeMbare product rose from the bench to cancel Quality Kangadze’s goal at the death for a 1-1 draw.
“This was the first time coming here to play against my former teammates, and I needed to make my presence felt.
“I’m glad I managed to score that equaliser and helped the team get a point. When I was at training I was actually training to make sure that I make an impact in this game,” Nasama exclusively told H-Metro.
King showed a lot of potential at DeMbare but never reached the levels expected of him.
“I left Dynamos when I had an injury and I was looking for a team where I could get game time and I’m happy I managed to do that.
“I want to thank the coaches for giving me a chance to play. I had a feeling that if I had played even just five minutes, I had the chance to score a goal.
“We just have to work hard and we have a chance to come back into the title race.
“As a young player, I’m learning from the senior players and I’m learning a lot from them at the moment.”
Going into the game, Dynamos had won two consecutive games before the break.
Against the Gamecocks, they looked lively and were in a position to get full points had they not resorted to defending.
DeMbare coach Lloyd Mutasa hailed Nasama for the performance saying they were unfortunate to have thrown away their lead.
“When you have these boys growing and getting game time, it is every coach’s dream that every boy that comes through your hands you would want him to progress.
“I’m happy with him as a player, he did well and he punished us. But you cannot begrudge him for that because it is good for him as a footballer,” said Mutasa.
