Nakamba Tournament Cancelled

Marvelous Nakamba has cancelled his Under 17 Tournament which was slated for this week.

The two-day tournament was postponed to a later date due following a recent ban on all sporting activities to try and contain a Covid-19 third wave.

“The foundation would like to advise the general public that the tournament which was originally slated for 19 and 20 June has been postponed to a later date.

“This is in compliance to the statement issued by the Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe- Hon (Rtd) General Dr Constantine Chiwenga who is also minister of Health and Child Care. In the stamen “all gatherings except funerals are banned. These include but not limited to weddings, church gatherings, music festivals and sports activities.

“We support all efforts that go a long way in curbing the spread of the deadly pandemic.

“And in that light we have put on hold plans for the tournament. All systems that had been put in place will stay on hold up to a time when it’s safe to hold the tournament.

“Though we had already booked hotels, and flight tickets for international guest and scouts.

“We would like to thank everyone who had been assisting and cooperating in making the event a success. Stay home, mask up and stay safe all the time,” read the statement.
