MUJURU’S  PRC IN HUNT THE FOR MORE PARTNERS AHEAD OF 2018 ELECTIONS

THE People’s Rainbow Coalition (PRC) says it remains committed and open to negotiations with other political parties to form a broader alliance to dislodge Zanu PF during the 2018 elections.

MUJURU'S PARTY KICKED OUT OF OFFICES

According to the resolutions of the coalition’s joint coordinating committee held in Harare recently, PRC is in talks with several stakeholders with the ultimate objective of forming a grand coalition ahead of next year’s elections.

“That PRC commits itself to continue building partnerships with various sectors of Zimbabwe’s population including social movements , civil society, churches, ex-freedom fighters, informal traders, labour, students and women organisations as it seeks to form the next government of the Republic of Zimbabwe,” reads part of the resolutions written by Gorden Moyo, the coalition’s secretary general.

Moyo said his organisation also remains open to negations with other opposition

“That PRC remains open to all other progressive political parties and individuals who share its vision of building an inclusive, capable, progressive, democratic and developmental state in Zimbabwe,” said Moyo.

Analysts have argued that only a united front presents the opposition with a better chance of dislodging Zanu PF from power.

PRC which is made up of Joice Mujuru’s National People’s Party, Zimbabwe United for Democracy, (Zunde),led by Farai Mbira and the Democratic Assembly for Reform and Empowerment (Dare) was formed about three months ago.

Other coalitions include the Coalition of Democrats (CODE) and the MDC Alliance.

Code is led by Elton Mangoma while Morgan Tsvangirai will represent the MDC-Alliance in next year’s poll. Mujuru leads PRC.
