More Details Emerge On Mohadi Resignation

VP Mohadi Beat-Up Ex Wife In Police Presence

Former Vice President Kembo Mohadi announced his resignation from the post on Monday after reports which claimed the 71-year-old man was having illicit affairs with his married aides.

Meanwhile, George Charamba, a spokesperson for President Emmerson Mnangagwa, claimed Mohadi had tendered his resignation letter to the president a week before he made the announcement.

Ironically, President Mnangagwa and his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, addressed him as Vice President at a recent ZANU PF rally. The event came amid reports that Mohadi had resigned and the president’s remarks were used to dismiss the reports.

Posting on Twitter on Tuesday, George Charamba said when one resigns, they have two documents, one for the appointing authority and the other for the public. He said:

CONTRARY OF DOMINANT NARRATIVES IN THE MEDIA: Former Vice President K.C.D. Mohadi handed in his resignation letter to the appointing authority, his Excellency the President, Cde ED Mnangagwa, A WEEK AGO. Let history record this statement of fact.

The day you offer to resign is quite apart from the day you announce your resignation!!

Ironically, President Mnangagwa and his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, addressed him as Vice President at a recent ZANU PF rally. The event came amid reports that Mohadi had resigned and the president’s remarks were used to dismiss the reports.

In his speech, he resigned because of the recurring dis-information and virilization of my alleged immoral unions, dispensed through awkward slacktivism.

Section 96 (2) of the Zimbabwean Constitution states that a Vice-President may his or her office by written notice to the President, who must give public notice of the resignation as soon as it is possible to do so and in any event within twenty-four hours.
