A Budiriro man committed suicide on Tuesday afternoon after receiving positive HIV test results.

The 32-year-old man identified as Simbarashe and married to two wives was well-known money changer at Current Shopping Centre in Budiriro.

H-Metro got a chance to speak to the wife of the deceased who said the man went into denial after receiving his results.

“Yesterday he came with the result slip of HIV test saying that he was positive.

“He was not settled and it seems like he was not accepting that he was now positive.

“He married another wife a few months ago where he was now staying and he was now spending more time there with his new love.

“Today around 1am he woke up and said he was going to kill himself.

“I tried stopping him but later he snitched out of the house,”

” It was his first time to go out of the house that time,”

” Around 5am I was called that my husband Simba dead,”. said Mai Makanaka who is the first wife.

His friend identified as Tafadzwa said the deceased had said nothing of the results.

“I was with him last night but he told me nothing.

“I was surprised when I heard that he killed himself early in the morning (Tuesday).

“He never shared any information about what is going on in his private life.

“He had another girl friend who he was now staying with these days.”

In the pockets of the deceased was found a will showing on the distribution on his estate.

The man’s landlord said Simbarashe had used a well rope to hang himself.

“I last saw him yesterday night and I never knew that he had this type of thoughts because he greeted me and went to his room, without any long conversation,”. said the landlord.
