These elections the president of Zimbabwe cde ED Mnangagwa might have made a mistake of not telling people of the difference between a country’s president and a burial society’s president.
When calling for any event wether national or international, rules, and regulations are spelt out. Sometimes it happens that due to the overwhelming task at hand or just assuming people understand what the event is all about , the organisers of any event may fail to point out some of the important rules of the game.
There is a difference between a farm league and the European football league. Yes in both leagues people kick the ball and all have whistles being blown, but what each stands for and the quality of play on the field is different. Back home it seems as if ZEC did not make the headline of this election very clear. It’s as if they only said there is an election and ended there.
As if they never said its a Presidential election. The characters we are seeing this election leaves a lot to be desired. With some without manifestos claiming to deal with whatever is on the ground to some who studied law , but do not understand the law itself when it comes to election candidates withdrawal time frame.
We have some who today they want to boycott the elections, tomorrow they make a u-turn confusing their supporters and some who call for a star rally with less than 30 people in attendance and latter on doing damage control by saying the rally was meant for a ward, a presidential candidate who goes from ward to ward conducting rallies, I wonder how many they will visit within the next 20 or so days left.
We have some who are shocked after being asked to present their manifestos. Let me make the announcement clear for ZEC so that it is clear to every one;
THIS IS A COUNTRY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION NOT A BURIAL SOCIETY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
