Mnangagwa Elevates Mugabe Preferred Successor
A report claims that the sitting arrangement for government and ruling party senior officials at the burial of national hero the late Brigadier-General Emilio Munemo on Saturday was highly unusual.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga was seated to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s immediate right while close to him was Sidney Sekeramayi.
Sekeramayi was reportedly former President Robert Mugabe’s preferred successor before the military coup in November 2017 put his plans in disarray.
Since the coup, Sekeramayi was not named in Mnangagwa’s two successive Cabinets even though he was a mainstay in Mugabe’s administration.
