‘Mnangagwa Deceitful’ Says Magaya

Outspoken Zimbabwe Divine Destiny executive director Bishop Ancelimo Magaya has described President elect Emmerson Mnangagwa as deceitful.

He was responding to allegations that President Mnangagwa had facilitated the release of MDC -Alliance Principal Tendai Biti.

“Mnangagwa’s toungue is full of deceit” thundered Magaya

Speaking through his Twitter @edmnangagwa, President Emmerson Mnangagwa he had intervened in the release of Biti.

“Tendai Biti was released earlier today (Thursday) following my intervention” said Mnangagwa

He added “At such a crucial time in the history of the new Zimbabwe nothing is more important than unity, peace and dialogue.

“Equally important however is an adherence to the rule of law. I repeat no one is above the law. Thus due to the serious nature of the allegations due process will continue”

Bishop Magaya also demanded that a commission of inquiry be set up to look into the post election violence that left six people dead.

“It is time President Mnangagwa knows that the church takes seriously the manner in which lives were lost on August 1 2018 and cannot accept any smock screened commission of inquiry.

“We therefore demand an independent body appointed by other significant national stakeholders, the church included to lead this probe. The presidium and all those in security sector are compromised on this matter and cannot therefore investigate themselves” said Bishop Magaya

Following the post election violence more than 20 suspected opposition supporters have been arrested while the fate of those who fired live ammunition is still unknown.
