Minister of Sport Kirsty Coventry speaks on the incident at NSS involving the Warriors

Minister of Sport Kirsty Coventry has described yesterday’s incident at National Sports Stadium as disgusting.

The Warriors were denied access to hold their training session at the venue following an impasse between the Ministry of Local Government and the Zimbabwe Football Association over ticket tallying.

The national team is set to use the venue on Sunday for their decisive 2019 Afcon qualifier against Congo Brazzaville.

The ministry through its Public Works Department who manages the stadium wants access to the online ticketing system so that they will be able to ascertain their share, but Zifa is not allowing that.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Coventry was not happy with the incident and promised to investigate the case.

The Warriors want at least a draw in the Sunday’s encounter to book their place at the 2019 Afcon finals set for Egypt in June.
