MDC Alliance VP Shares Video Showing Quality of Harare Water
The Vice President (VP) of the opposition MDC Alliance, Lynette Karenyi-Kore, shared a video on social media showing the quality of water in Harare.
She attributed the accusations to the central government of being the root cause by failing to construct the requisite infrastructure. In reference to the water in the video, she said:
_This is what the average Zimbabwean citizen is drinking everyday, dirty water. Zimbabwe’s Water Act states that the Central Government must build dams. Harare has been waiting for Kunzvi Dam since 1996, when the money was looted. MDCA is ready to change this, Register To Vote now._

Meanwhile, the ruling party, ZANU PF, accuses the opposition, which has been controlling urban local authorities, of failing to provide expected services.
Governance and political analysts observe that both the ruling ZANU PF and opposition MDC are to blame for the demise of local government authorities.
They note that subnational governments have become a battleground for ZANU PF and MDC as the parties are sabotaging each other.
They also observe that the central government has not been religiously disbursing funds it is legally bound to give to local authorities and that affects how councils operate.
Meanwhile, local authorities have been failing to account for revenue collected each year, an issue that has worsened the plight of ratepayers.
