MAN SENTENCED TO HANG FOR CARJACKING AND MURDER
A 30-year-old Masvingo man, who carjacked a taxi driver in Beitbridge and butchered him in a callous manner, was on Wednesday sentenced to death by hanging.
Emmanuel Mapfumo of Stand No 4 Thornhill Extension in Gutu zapped Cliff Chioza – the taxi driver – with an electroshock weapon and stabbed him twice on the right side of the chest on October 3 last year
The incident occurred near the Mfelandawonye area in Beitbridge.
Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Francis Bere convicted Mapfumo of robbery and murder with actual intent.
