Man murdered for ‘showing off’
Seven men are on the run for the murder of a 30-year-old man, who was stabbed for allegedly ‘showing off’ at a bar in Kwekwe’s area of Munyati.
The now deceased David Tembo (30), was attacked by seven assailants as he tried to buy beer at Dollar Bar on September 13.
Police confirmed the incident, saying the assailants were on the run after committing the heinous act.
“It was reported that the now deceased Tembo, of Trafalgar 63 Mine in Kadoma arrived at Dollar
Bar in the company of three of his friends intending to buy beer. They found the bar closed with seven unknown men seated outside.,” said Midlands Provincial Spokesperson Inspector Emanuel Mahoko.
One of the men then awakened the bar lady who then sold beer to Tembo and his friends.
The seven suspects then confronted Tembo and his three friends, accusing them of showing off and a misunderstanding arose.
“The suspects took out knives and one of them stabbed Tembo on the thigh. He bled profusely until he became unconscious and died in his car,” he said.
The matter was reported to the police and Tembo’s body was ferried to Kwekwe General Hospital Mortuary where it awaits post-mortem.
Inspector Mahoko appealed to members of the public who might have any knowledge of the assailants to report to the nearest police station.
Police are investigating a case of unlawful termination of pregnancy in which a foetus was found wrapped in a red t-shirt at a dump site near Warren Hills, Hre, on 14/09/21 at around 1600 hrs.
The ZRP wishes to announce names of 3 victims who were killed in a road traffic accident which occurred at the Cnr Stoneleigh and Chiremba Rd, Hre, on 14/09/21 at around 1730 hrs. The victims were positively identified by their next of kin as – Rutendo Gulien Bota (21), Anashe Shoko (2 months) and Pardon Chiupamba (male adult)

On 08/09/21, Police intercepted two SA registered trucks, HMD 437 FS and 319ERB GP loaded with 43 800 litres of unleaded petrol, valued at ZAR 149 000. One of the trucks was being driven by Joshua Selowa while the other driver escaped.
The tankers, belonging to Infinity Fleet Transport were destined for Nemo Petroleum, Byo. Investigations so far have revealed that the drivers used a fake bill of entry which was already used on 03/09/21.
The ZRP confirms the arrest of John Mavuka (38) on 15/09/21, for cultivating dagga at Gwenhamo Village, Chivi. Police recovered 31 twists, 2 kgs prepared dagga, 2 000 seedlings and over 1 000 mature plants in the suspect’s garden #notodangerousdrugs.
Following the proliferation of illegal gold panning at village 5 Lornekope, Kadoma, on 15/0921, Police descended on the illegal mining site and recovered abandoned mining equipment which include four windlass, 30 kilowatt generator and Jack hammer.

The man who allegedly shot a ZUPCO conductor has been arrested. The conductor only identified as Joy was shot in the head at Dzivaresekwa 4 bus terminus on Monday.
The accused person fled the scene but was arrested yesterday.
