
Morton Paul Malianga, the late liberation struggle hero who died on Friday, was yesterday declared a national hero.
This was first shared by the Zanu PF Patriots on Twitter in a post that said:
C.D.E. Moton Dizzy Paul Malianga declared a National Hero Today (yesterday) Defence Minister Cde Muchinguri handed over a letter of national hero conferment status from C.D.E ED to Mrs Effie Malianga, the widow of the late nationalist C.D.E Moton Dizzy Paul Malianga.
Muchinguru-Kashiri, while delivering the news to the family of Malianga, described him as a pioneer of the struggle that brought independence and said:
He was an exemplary nationalist leader who pioneered the struggle for our national independence. We will always reminisce on his unwavering commitment to the self-determination of the black majority.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course. 91-year-old Malianga survived by his wife, Effie, and two sons, Paidamoyo and Waraidzo.
