Dubbed “The City Shutdown” the show sees Major League from South Africa jet into the country today for a performance at Palm Estate in Borrowdale tomorrow that has Harare’s youths excited.
The hip-hop/amapiano DJ duo of twin brothers Bandile and Banele Mbere will also perform in Bulawayo on Sunday.
To add to the excitement, Zimbabwe’s artiste of the moment, Nutty O, who is riding high with his hit song, “Handipere Power”, gets to entertain a live audience for the first time since releasing his album.
Other local artistes set to perform include Takura, Ray Dizz, Dj Rimo, C-Skills, Dj Flevah, Ishan, Kikky, King 98, Judgement Yard amongst others.
“Major League jet in in Harare, on Friday (today) at 11am ahead of the show on Saturday at Palm Estate in Borrowdale,” said music promoter Collin Manyore, the man behind the show.
Manyore has brought in the SA duo to celebrate his 39th birthday during the Harare show tomorrow.
“The Harare show falls on my birthday and Major League will help me celebrate it in style. The planning has been flawless so far as everything is running according to script. We have authority and permission from all relevant authorities to hold the show whilst following and observing all Covid-19 regulations and guidelines which include wearing of masks and sanitization,” he said.
All attendants are advised to bring their vaccination cards as failure to do that will see them chucked out at the entrance.
The Harare show will start from 12 noon and runs until 9pm to allow people to head back home without breaking curfew.
Major league will perform for two hours.
Manyore said he hopes the show will help local artistes and DJs appreciate the international levels that Major League have reached and take a cue from their performance.
The Bulawayo show will have DJ Rimo, Nospa, C-Skillz, Easi TRT, Asaph, DJStokswit, and Keezy AM join major league for their second show before flying back to South Africa.
