Madam Boss on cloud nine
COMEDIENNE Madam Boss reckons God is the only performer who anoints the poor to become kings and queens.
The former domestic social worker, who has become an internet sensation in the space of five years with her skits, said hard work, faith and prayer pay.
She opened up to H-Metro Entertainment & Lifestyle after her team hosted the entertainer’s celebration party at Rainbow Towers after winning the African Social Star at this year’s People E Choice Award.
Musicians Leonard Zhakata, Suluman Chimbetu and Tocky Vibes performed. Her husband Ngonidzashe Munetsiwa, who also doubles as the entertainer’s manager, could not hide their elation.
“We are humbled by the impact the Madam Boss brand has made and it can only be God who uplifts the poor to acclaim.
“When Madam Boss won at the recently held People’s E Choice awards, a global accolade, we decided to host a celebration party for her with the help of our partners.
“We have noted that we need to celebrate our own, as is the case with other countries that appreciates its celebrities,” said Munetsiwa.
The affable manager said they had to hold a virtual concert in line with the Covid-19 protocols.
“It ended up being a virtual event where lucky guests were invited we didn’t want to be found in breach of the Covid-19 rules.
“We are likely to hold another party for the public but we will be guided by the status quo.
“We are more than happy because Madam Boss has just been nominated for another global award,” he added.
Asked how he came up with the line-up of performers and guest list when Madam Boss had a huge following which saw others miss out, he explained:
“It was hard coming up with the guest list but we just chose those who were close by and have been with us since day one.
“I personally include Zhakata in the line-up because I am his fan while Sulu is one of us.
“We also settled for other corporates like Nyaradzo, Nash Paints and other individuals like Prophet Passion that we have been working with.
“Like I said earlier on, we would have loved to accommodate all Madam Boss fans but the situation we are in does not permit for all those gatherings.”
Madam Boss is one of several internet sensations who has taken social media by storm, along with the likes of her rival Mai TT among others.
