SUNGURA musician Alick Macheso has ‘adopted’ fellow ailing musician Tedious Matsito’s son, Tedious Muchapedza Jnr.

H-Metro has gathered that the 17-year-old budding singer is now staying at Macheso’s Waterfall’s residence.

Macheso confirmed the development to H-Metro saying he now treats Muchapedza as part of his family.

“Yes, he is part of the family. I just decided to take him. He goes to see his family whenever he wishes.Macheso ‘adopts’ Matsito’s son

“You are really aware of his situation at home and you understand it, I just felt there is nothing wrong to stay with him. He is actually enjoying the company of my boys because they are of the same age,” said Macheso.

Muchapedza, who wrote his O level examinations last year, has been looking after his siblings and parents with proceeds from live shows.

His father Tedious has not recovered since he suffered a stroke and has been staying at his rural Rusape home.

The young lad now fronts his father’s group, Ngwenya Brothers, and has been holding shows under the tutelage of Macheso.

He has since finished recording his debut album at Macheso’s Alema Studios.

“He has recorded an album at our studios and its good most of the time he will be around.

“As you know, my sons are also into music which means I now have a team to work on,” said Macheso.

Muchapedza’s father, Tedious, is known for several hits like “Nyaradzo”, “Gede Mwana” and “Madiro” among others which became anthems at the peak of the Ngwenya Brothers’ career.

Matsito’s misfortune started when his band was involved in an accident on their way from a tour of Mozambique which claimed the life of his brothers Luckmore and Domingo and a female dancer.

The accident also saw his leg amputated after spending almost a year in the hospital.

His PA system was also destroyed during the accident.

He later got an artificial leg from a local bank before suffering a stroke during a tour of South Africa in 2016.
