Kaizer Chiefs set to have another coach
Kaizer Chiefs could be set for a new coach appointment ahead of next season following comments made by Arthur Zwane suggesting that there could be a new gaffer coming in.
Zwane has been holding fort along with Dillon Sheppard since the sacking of Stuart Baxter a month ago.
Zimbabwe international forward Khama Billiat, who is on the Amakhosi books, has seen a huge turnover of coaches since he arrived at the Glamour Boys.
Zwane has taken charge of six games losing his first three before he won, drew, and won again.
Last season the 48-year-old was also brought in after Gavin Hunt was fired and also served on another interim arrangement along with Doctor Khumalo and Ace Khuse when Vladimir Vermezovic was shown the door as well.
For now, Zwane has been assigned to take charge until the end of the season which is effectively this weekend with Chiefs playing Swallows in a bid to secure CAF club competition place finish.
He made remarks relating to the incoming coach and when asked to clarify that statement he only said the club will make the call.
While brief on the matters relating to the job that he is occupying, he was also non-committal on the players that the club has already signed including Zitha Kwinika.
Zwane has been at Chiefs since the year 2000 after joining from Tembisa Classic.
He retired in 2010 after 234 starts with a return of 40 goals and has worked his way as a coach from the club’s development to the first team since then.
As is always the case, Chiefs have been flooded with applications for the job but will have to make the call on whether to keep Zwane on a permanent basis or bring in a new coach. – KickOff
