Kae Chaps seeks assistance
Youthful musicians Kae Chaps has appealed for support from promoters, seasoned artistes and the corporate world to realise his full potential.
Born Kudakwashe Chapera, the Juzi singer started singing in 2014, when he recorded a nine-track EP titled November 20 which came out October 2018.
He also released another EP titled A Pretty Short Life in 2020 and a debut album titled Vanga came out September 25 the same year.
This year, he released three singles namely No Man Curse, Huchapa and the hit song Juzi.
“I wish to see promoters and the corporate world respecting artistes more and not take advantage of our situations.
“I would appreciate a lot more coverage of my craft and awareness that artistes go through a lot to end up with the products we serve therefore respect is highly needed.
“I also need the media to lift me up and not try and drag me down,” he said.
Despite the popularity of his songs, especially Juzi, he said it does not translate into money.
“I have always wanted to make music but I wanted to get education out of the way first.
“I couldn’t go to university because of financial constraints so I ended up being left with no choice but to purse music full time,” he said.
To date, he was released a couple of collaborations namely Makuhwa featuring Qounfuzed, Mai Boi ft. Tytan and Kwete This time ft. R. Peels.
