The Zimbabwe Land Commission will embark on a national land audit from the 22nd of October to the 24th of November to establish a full account of all agricultural land.

GOVT TO COMBAT MULTIPLE FARM OWNERSHIP

The long awaited land national comprehensive audit by the Tendai Bare led land commission will be carried out in phases starting from gazetted areas in the eight provinces starting next week.

“The land audit programme follows a pilot project completed recently. The program will be guided by specific objectives that is to collect and analyse land allocation data, identify multiple ownership and double allocation, and land use among other things,” said Ms Bare.

Phase one will be carried out in Hurungwe district (Mashonaland West Province), Hwedza (Mashonaland East Province), Muzarabani (Mashonaland Central Province), Kwekwe (Midlands province), Makoni (Manicaland Province), Gutu (Masvingo Province), Lupane (Matabeleland North Province) and Beitbridge (Matabeleland South Province).
