Jah Prayzah ft Ja cure OVERTAKE Winky D ft Bennie
It has taken less than a month for My Angel Lo, a duet by Jah Prayzah and Jah Cure to amass more views on the global You Tube platform than My Woman done by Winky D and Beenie Man three months earlier.
As of last night, My Angel Lo had 482,629 views on You Tube having been published on February 14 as a Valentine’s Day dedication.
My Woman, which was published on You Tube on November 6 last year, was on 467,630 views a week into its fourth month.
Jah Prayzah and Winky D are the most popular artistes in Zimbabwe at the moment while Jah Cure and Beenie Man are the giants of Jamaican music.
Born Siccature Alcock on 11 October 1978, the name Jah Cure officially came from legendary reggae artiste Capleton. Jah Cure is a legend when it comes to lovers’ rock and has more followers than Bennie Man, the self-proclaimed dancehall king.
For the Jamaican artistes, Jah Cure has more social media followers than Beenie Man while locally Jah Prayzah has more social media followers than Winky D and this might also explain the reasons behind My Angel Lo surpassing My Woman in less than a month despite a three-month head start for the dancehall kings.
The musicians’ followers also seem to enjoy the respective videos achieve as many views as possible on You Tube.
At launch, one Fortune Lightowler urged Winky D fans to help the video set records in terms of You Tube views:
“Guys let’s make this video more amazing by watching it over 200million times each of us because this is just lit n it deserves more views if u are joining me let me know by hitting the lyk button.#GAFA TO THE FULLEST “
Nigerian Covenant A’u had this to say about my Angel Lo:
“Who else feels this song deserves a million views in one week? Much love from Nigeria”
