Imprisoned MDC Alliance activist, Makomborero Haruzivishe has said he is ready to suffer until the situation in Zimbabwe has transformed for the better.

His colleague, Job Sikhala, Member of Parliament for Zengeza West says he had a meeting with Makomborero on Tuesday during which the former Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) leader expressed his willingness to suffer for the betterment of the country. Said Sikhala:

Yesterday (Tuesday) he (Haruzivishe Makomborero) send prison officers to ask me to see him at the Rotten Row prison cells after he heard I was in Court arguing a case.

I went to see him & had a word for Zimbabweans.

“Please mukoma (brother) Wiwa, go & tell people of Zimbabwe that I am prepared to suffer until things are right”

Makomborero was arrested and convicted of two accounts of inciting public violence and resisting arrest by law enforcement agents charges and was subsequently imprisoned for 20 months by Harare Magistrate Judith Taruvinga.

His crime was demonstrating in the capital, Harare, with colleagues, against electoral fraud and demanding the release of the ZINASU president Takudzwa Ngadziore.

He was convicted in April 2021.
