I’M BETTER THAN EPOUPA SAYS MAKORE | Mighty Warriors striker Rutendo ‘Madzimai’ Makore says she cannot accept the nickname Ntouba.

The striker believes she is as good as the Dynamos striker Christian Ntouba Epoupa and it is her name that could rightly fit him (Cameroonian striker).Makore scored 10 goals in five matches as the Mighty Warriors finished runners-up the recent 2017 Cosafa Championships won by South Africa.

“I am Rutendo Makore and my performance is nothing near comparison to Epoupa’s. We are two different people and it is not proper to compare me to a man because I play more like him. I’d rather have him called Rutendo Makore not vice versa,” she said.

The Mighty Warriors striker was responding to fans that had started calling her Ntouba on social media.

Makore added that she was known in the country before the arrival of the striker that has made a huge impression at DeMbare.

“I have been playing like this for a long time now and way before Epoupa came to Zimbabwe.

“I have my own talent and style of play which can be better than his so we cannot be compared. I’m Rutendo Makore ‘Rue #15’,” she said.

Makore won the golden boot at the regional tournament after his 10 goals.

The striker heaped praise on her teammates saying her goals cannot come without their support and unity in the team.

“I would like to thank Zimbabweans for supporting us throughout the whole tournament.

“The players also played brilliantly despite the result in the final, but all the same well done my fellow players,” she said.
