IdolsSA season 16 is currently airing on our tv screens and the first episode was full of giggles and a fair share of controversy.
zanewsonline.co.za has managed to get an exclusive on supposed IdolsSA judge salaries and other contractual obligations which SIC (South African Idols) Entertainment offers their judges and presenter as a remuneration package.
1. Monthly salary
As of 2020, an Idols SA judge gets to pocket some extra spending money – R48 700 per month over a period of 10 months to be exact.
An Idols SA judge gets R1 500 per day out of town allowance just in case he/she is in need of an extra lunch or maybe even just have an urge to buy a DVD or CD at a non-local Musica.
Trouble with sleeping arrangements? No need to worry. Accommodation “on a bed and breakfast basis” is provided to ensure judges make no appearance with an empty stomach.
4. A car
The producers at SIC Entertainment do all the judges’ travel arrangements to and from the airport as well as to and from recordings for the programme, as well as any other appearances that judges are required to do for the show.
If a judge feels like he/she is not getting along with the provided driver, using his/her own transport is also welcome but they must also remember to keep those receipts.
Economy class flights?? Not at all!!. Idols SA judges have their flights upgraded to business class all the way.
