Husband beats up wife and mother-in-law in a jealous rage.
The Chronicle reports that Feremenga Ngulube (41) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Franklin Mkhwananzi facing assault charges. He was remanded out of custody to April 24 for trial.
A man from Bulawayo recently shocked the community when he committed one of the cultural taboos after he physically assaulted his mother-in-law following a misunderstanding with his wife.
The charges came about after Ngulube found his wife, Ms Sandra Mhlanga (42), talking to his male friends at around 7:30 pm. An angry Ngulube assaulted his wife and when she fell on the ground, he dragged her by her legs.
The prosecution went on to say, Ms Mhlanga later escaped and went to her parents’ house where she narrated what had happened. Her mother together with her two brothers left her and went to Ngulube’s house.
Ngulube ran towards his mother-in-law and kicked her three times on the legs. When the brothers who were walking behind realised that their mother had fallen to the ground they chased Ngulube but he outpaced them.
After failing to catch Ngulube, his in-laws then filed a police report.
