Hopewell Chin’ono To Spent 2 More Weeks In Jail

Corruption whistle-blower and Zimbabwean prominent freelance journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono has been denied bail and has been remanded in custody to August 7.

Chin’ono was arrested on Monday in connection with allegations of Contravening Section 187(1)(a) as read with section 37(1)(a)(i) of the Criminal Law [Codification and Reform] Act, Chapter 9:23, “incitement to participate in public violence’

On the same day, Jacob Ngarivhume of Transform Zimbabwe was also arrested for the same charges after the duo encouraged the members of the public to participate in the anti-corruption protests pencilled for the 31st of this month.

Ngarivhume was on Thursday denied bail.


Genius Kadungure aka Ginimbi was a popular Zimbabwean socialite and businessman.
