Harare leads on new Covid-19 cases

On Sunday 25 July, Zimbabwe recorded 44 new COVID-19 death cases, taking the cumulative deaths to 3 094.

Harare led other provinces on new COVID-19 cases with 156 followed by Mashonaland East and Matebeleland North both on 78.

Manicaland had 43 with Masvingo close behind on 42.

Matebeleland South had the fewest with 20.

Midlands, Mashonaland Central, Bulawayo and Mashonaland East had 36, 37, 59 and 68.

A total of 1 285 new recoveries were recorded, bringing the recovery rate to 67%.

This sees the active cases coming down to 28 887.

The positivity rate was 12,4% after 4 981 tests were done.

Cumulatively, Zimbabwe has recorded 97 894 new cases, 65 914 recoveries and 3 094 deaths.

About 753 people were hospitalized, 83 of which were new admissions.

Another 83 people were asymptomatic, 279 had mild to moderate symptoms.

A further 52 have severe symptoms and 22 are in the intensive care.

Parirenyatwa,Muzari,St Ruperts Hospital and Masvingo did not report.

Sunday,18 452 received their first dose bringing cumulative figures for the first dose to 1 447 342 while 2 286 received their second dose bringing cumulative for the second dose to 680 060.
